What more can I say. Playing COD4 - hardwired, through FiOS.

I notice some games, everyone has 3 or 4 bars, I have one. Or it fluctuates between 1-3 bars. Ill be kickin tail one minute and missing everything the next...

WHen I host? I have 3-4 bars and everyone else has one, so no one stays when i host lol. Also game will randomly end stating that host ended the game when of course i didnt...

I switched to open DNS - nothing... I cant see FiOS being the problem - everything in the house is fast, including all the wi-fi computer connections. Surfing on the PS3 is fast so im really at a loss here..

any ideas? Thanks.

ps. My yahoo nickname is my PSN handle, feel free to add me... Thanks for any help

  1. try to dmz your ps3. if you open up your router page by typing 192.168.1.1on your computer , this wont work on ps3c browser...i think it is that, thats what i type, if that number don't work for you try your ip address.

ne ways type that into the url bar at the top of your web browser on your computer. once you do the router will ask you for a password, if you haven't visited this page before the default password will be admin. now look for an option that says DMZ, it may take awhile but it should be there.

once you've done that quickly go to your ps3 and find out its ip address, you can do this by opening up internet connection settings. once your have your ps3 ip address type it into the DMZ area where it asks you to type an ip.

what this does is allow absolutely everything through that is from your ps3, takes away all firewalls and protections and blocks. now this wouldn't be good to do on a pc because of viruses but it is impossible to get a virus on a ps3.

i did this and i haven't had one problem for about a year now. try it out and see if it works.

if it doesn't work then odds are you just have a really weak and slow internet connection.

  2. Try direct connecting the PS3!
