If you buy a 500GB HDD for it, is it true that 250GB of it will be recognized?

  1. Can I ask something first off all? Why in h**l would you need an HDD that big?

    Unless you plan to buy 100 games and every single demo from the Playstation Store for your PS3, then you won't need that much.

    If you really need an HDD that big, I'll tell you, you'll only have 497 GB, only 3 GB is used for system info, the rest is for you to use.

    And just out of curiosity, could you find me a 2.5" HDD that's that has THAT much capacity? The reason I specify 2.5" is because that's the kind the PS3 uses ( any HDD that's bigger won't fit)

  3. Yes, the PS3 only recognizes 250gb. You will never need that much space though. Just stick with something small like 120gb
