  1. Time for an upgrade  that's Get   a new  receiver. No sense on Dolby surround for a Play Station 3 Dolby Digital  all the way

  2. Instead of connecting the red/white audio cables from the cable box to the surround sound, connect them to the TV. Then connect another pair of red/white audio cables from the TV to the surround sound receiver (if your system has optical or coaxial inputs, that's even better – use one of those instead).

This will give you the added benefit of hearing anything on your TV on the home theater speakers as well. It is not necessary to hook every device directly to the home theater receiver.

  3. What you have to do it your cable box will be hooked up to your t.v., then you hook your game system(s), up to the t.v. too. Next after you have everything hooked up to the t.v., you get a pair of audio cables, and then you hook them up to the back of the t.v. *has to be the t.v. out port* then you hook them up to the aux in in then back of the surround sound. Make sure you have then surround sound system switched to Aux1 or 2. Hope it helped, if it didn't wouldn't mind a 10 pts. xD
