okay so i just got an hdmi cable for my ps3. i plugged it in along with the regular plugs to the tv. the ps3 started and immediately said that it detected the hdmi cable, and then asked if i wanted to use it as the main audio/video. i said yes. i then turned it off, and changed my hdtv to the HDMI video setting and started it up. it took 3 tries just to start it, and now it starts but takes extremely long just to come up to the screen where you choose the your PS3 ID. eventually it did, and then i clicked mine, and then it begins to open and then freezes. i tried to just put it now to regular video settings (on my tv) but it wont work. im assuming that im not gonna be able to because my ps3 is now set up to use the hdmi! so i dont know what to do! i cant even start the ps3 to change the settings! help me! how could i like reboot the whole thing???? advice at all?

  1. OK, we had this problem, and the problem is you have to have the newest version of the HDMI cable.  I don't remember but I think it is a 1.3.  Stupid I know.  My husband bought a whole new TV AND a PS3 (for BluRay) because the high def wasn't working right on our less than a year old TV.  I told him it was the cable, and he said its a brand new cable.  Then when I spent an hour and a half on the phone with the TV manufacture because the new TV and PS3 didn't work right, I found out that there is a new version HDMI cable.  I was PO'd!!!

    :)

    But BluRay Rocks!!!
