PS3 accessories / cables question.?

Question

Will the $25 or $10 A/V cables do anything with a 27'' standard definition tv?

or is it a waste of money since the a/v cables that came with it still work?

It would depend on what types of connections your TV can handle.  I have yet to see a standard def TV that supports component input, so that first one will do you no good at all.  You won't even be able to use it.  The second one is just a fancy composite cable, which ought to work just fine, but there's really no huge difference in quality between it and the one that comes with the PS3.
