PS3 and Projector???

Question

I just bought a PS3 recently and I am looking to buy a projector for a theater room. The room is completely dark so lighting isn't a problem. The main thing I want to do is play Madden and College football. I would also like to hook it up to my Satellite which is H D. My budget is around $1,000. Any suggestions?

Your choices for your budget of $1000 will either be a DLP or LCD projector that is 720p/1080i. I like the DLP  color and how it handles blacks better than LCD but the positioning of the DLP is somewhat limited. I recommend that you install a DLP by a ceiling mount in your dedicated theater room. If installation of the projector is limited, then you have more flexibility with LCD projectors, although the black images on those are not as great as DLPs in my opinion.  I will attach some links with  projectors and their reviews here:

You can order an Optoma HD65 with a 92 inch screen from Costco.com for $999/99 and you can try it at home and if you do not like it, you can always return it at your local Costco Warehouse. I bought mine this way and I did not return my Optoma.

Yes a projector will work great for the PS3, in fact I was a buddys house and we played GT5 on his system and it was great.  I would look at Fry's electronics to see if you can find an HD projector.  You should be bale to find a few 720p or 1080i for 1,000 but the 1080p will cost you around 2,000

you could look at a BenQ W500.. or a Sharp DT-500.. i dont think youll get  1080 for under a thousand.. but you can get a decent 720p for well under a thousand.. ive got the same plan as you.. PS3 is on its way and same with the sharp dt500
