PS3 controller cannot connect?

Question

i just installed yellow dog linux on my PS3... everytime i go back to the game OS, my dualshock 3 and 2 other sixaxis wont connect, so i have to pair them up with the PS3 again. it takes FORVER to pair them up, like when i connect the USB cable to pair them up, it starts charging but it wont connect when i press the PS button. it takes like a minute before i can connect the controller with USB cable. its been soooo annoying!!!! are there any solutions to this???? thanks

it is very annoying i can guess, but i dont know of any way to automatically connect. how is linux by the way?
