PS3 doesn't play DISKS! any help!?

Question

i was playing call of duty4 online, when all of a sudden, the tv screen went completely BLACK. I was able to press the PS button and see friends screen and stuff. I restarted it, the PS3 never read the COD4 disk. I tried other games like time crisis, simpsons, etc, and the PS3 didnt read any of them!

I have another PS3, so i tried the same COD4 game on it, and it worked, so i KNOW my disks arent scratched.

P.S....the PS3 was in its box the whole time while i was playing, i thought it overheated, so i turned it off for 24 hours. I played for only 10 minutes the next day, and the screen went black again. ANY HELP wud be appreciated!!!

I am able to play downloaded games from the internet and go online with it and stuff, just cant play game disks

xbox 360 rules. haha. it sucks to bcuz ps3 doesnt really have good games. ps3 doesnt have halo 3. that sucks..

Wow... I guess call the company like many other people said, they will be able to help. The PS3 probably wasn't the best investment. It is true XBOX 360 has been rated alot better than the PS3. I have had the 360 for almost a year and there has been absolutely no problems while my brother in law has the PS3 and he is constantly complaining about it. Anyway Good Luck.

i think the Lense disc reader may have broke... IDK, maybe u should contact Sony, if u do theyll poroblably Send u A New one while u send ur old one...

You know what to do, give Sony a call.

Well hey if you don't have a receipt than you'll have to pay, usually $50 for repair, $150 for replacement.

this happened to me...just give sony a call and they'll fix it. theres no possible way that  u can fix it witihout returning it unless you wanna void the warranty

oh did i mention they'll fix it for free

it sound like youve been hit by the deadly ie online virus im affraid the exact same thing has happend to me get in contact with your retailer and hopefully theyll refund or exchange for a new one good luck

the lens could be dirty so try a lens cleaner, if not then do what every1 else said .. call the company & switch it w your warranty
