PS3 on samsung hdtv?

Hey..i just bought a Samsung LAR8 40 inch LCD tv and i was wondering if it was 1080i or 1080p.Also,im gonna buy a ps3 this week and wanted to know if it would work well with this tv..and at what resolution.and if i could use the hdmi cable.

I think for that size it might be 720 or possibly 1080p. dont listen to the other guy. ps3 should be good with that tv because ps3 plays either 720, 1080i, or 1080p. Yes to get that resolution the ps3 has to be connected with an hdmi. xbox 360 isnt true hd  it has lower resolution

Don't get a PS3. Bad games, bad console. Get a 360.

So long as it is a tv from your area any console from your area will work.
