i have the new JVC 32" EX-18 tv and my PS3 is connected to it via HDMI cable.

now when i hit the detect display option, the PS3 detects all the resolutions from the lowest all the way up to 1080p

so iguess that means that my TV supports 1080p but when this resolution is applied ,white spotting appears all over the screen like little tingles of white spots but i get the picture of the game or the menu i dont get ablank screen the picture is displayed normaly but with white spotting all over it.

is it because of the cable bad quality maybe or is it related to the TV?

thx for an info and reply

  1. It is possible that those white spots are dead or defective pixels. Try calling customer service for your television company.

It is also possible that the light is leaking out of the tv. Even though the spots usually only appear on the corners when light is leaking out, it is still a possibility.

Is your hdmi cable a cheap one? It is gold plated? The best hdmi cables are the ones with gold plates.

Do the white spots appear in a lower resolution? Try setting the resolution to 720p and see if the same thing happens. Maybe your tv just doesn't support 1080p.
