PS3 quit wont read disc anyone know what i should do?

Its like 4am so in the morning im going to call sony or atleast try to from what i hear its impossible to get ahold of a live person, but anyways has this happend to any of you? i read its pretty common with the 40g which of course i have, if you had this problem what did you do

does anyone know how to back up your data and save all your stuff cuz i got alot of stuff saved on it i know there is some way to do it but im just not sure

and please dont say clean the disc or try blowing in it or turning it off and on or try another game....i have tried everything its a faulty system i just want to know the easiest way to take care of it

Is it still under warranty? I would say get in touch with Sony. There isn't much someone can do about this except get a new Blu-ray drive for it, which requires finding one on ebay or some online site that does repairs, if any of them will send you one, this requires opening the system, voiding any warranty you have, as for backing it up, any 40 GB or larger external USB hard drive and you will be able to backup the HDD to it using the Backup feature under system settings.
