PS3 remote control question?

does anyone know if the offical ps3 remote control is able to actually turn off the ps3. there's not an on/off button on the remote, but maybe a different buttoin does it?

I would speculate that the remote control would have a PS buttonl ike any other controller. Press and hold that, and you should see a menu come up. Slect power off system from that menu, confirm and voila.

The remote is pretty much a rectangular shaped Sixaxis.

You can use it to navigate the XMB menu.

If you have PS3 firmware 2.40 or higher you can go to the far left column of the menu at the top there is an option to put it on standby.

You can also just hold down the PS button,on the controller, and choose turn off system.

Yes you hold down the PS button and select from two options:

Turn off controller

Turn off system

Exactly the same as the Six-axis controller :-)

It is good for DVDs and music as you can access more functions more quickly than going through the sixaxis triangle menu, like a regular style remote, skipping tracks, titles, subtitles, menus, display, eject etc.
