Question:

PSAT help, anyone...?

Have any of you had any experience with, or have you heard anything about, the following one-on-one tutoring programs for the PSAT (PSAT math, only) ?

-Princeton

-Kaplan

-StudyPoint

-TestMasters

-TutorFox

-Huntington

I took Algebra 1 & 2 in 7th grade and Geometry in 8th, so I am really rusty on the math. I made almost perfect scores on the Critical Reading and Writing sections, but I need to work on the math. If you have any advice, I would be very grateful. I would like to have any information available about the pros and cons of these programs. Thank you so much!

  1. I actually did-I had a private tutor (about $800- but worth it in my eyes) from Kaplan who rose my PSAT score from 180 to 209--so you can see for yourself if you want to spend that money on it. I took a Princeton Review SAT class course and it wasn't good at all-I think it just wasted time. It's actually kind of funny--b/c I made almost a perfect on math and did strong in the other two--but math is my best subject ;).

Just talk it over with your parents if they are willing to pay for tutors b/c they get very pricey...but I think it helped a lot (especially with my SATs)

    Hope this helps.
