The Olympique Lyonnais president feels that the cash-laden side will not be whipping every single team in France week in week out despite spending so much money on new players this summer
Indeed, the arrival of Qatari owners has changed the shape of French football and it remains to be seen whether it was for the good of the game or not. Paris Saint-Germain have been the most noisy buyers in the recent transfer markets with the previous session
seeing the cash-laden club spend as much as 145 million euros on new recruits.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 president, Jean-Michel Aulas has been keeping a keen eye on the dealings of the Saint-Germain-based
club.
However, despite seeing the Ile giants spend so much money on new players over the past few months, Aulas does not feel that PSG will have a hegemonic presence about them in the future.
Aulas has the experience of dominating a league as Lyon dominated French football for over seven years. However, despite being arguably the best team in France for such a long time, Les Gones never had an easy ride and Aulas feels that the same could be
experienced by the capital club.
“PSG will not win every game 7-0. And if they did, it would not satisfy the public. From experience, I know that it is difficult to exert supremacy.”
Many people claim that PSG’s new owners might have a negative impact on the game in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. However, Aulas is not thinking on the same lines and feels that in a few years, the gap between the clubs and PSG will narrow down.
“The arrival of the Qataris at PSG and the establishment of the chain, serves the interests of French football. Facing Paris, Ligue 1 clubs will experience two difficult seasons. During this period, we will base our model on the Stade de Lumieres. In three
to five years, the gap will narrow down.”
With so much going on at PSG at the moment, it is hard to see any team displace them in the next couple of years. However, there is some hope for other Ligue 1 outfits once the Financial Fair Play comes into effect.
