PSG geared up to achieve quick success

Various billionaires have taken charge of clubs over the years but none has been to do it as effectively as the owners at Les de Princes did.
Recent years have been a showcase of the acquisition of clubs by wealthy owners, mostly hailing from the Middle East or Russia. A few examples of such acquisitions include the takeover of Chelsea by Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich in 2004 or the capture
of Manchester City by Abu Dhabi United Group.
The two teams spent millions on their squads but could only taste success after an appreciably long period of time.
PSG, however, in sharp contrast to the model unveiled at City and Chelsea, are making an effective use of their money. The smart signings this summer, which are in continuation to make their project a success, are enough proof of how different and effective
their model is.
It is understood, that, the PSG side has well in mind all the reasons, which resulted in a long wait for their rich English neighbours across the channel to eventually taste success. Unlike many, PSG plans not to take long before giving the desired output.
The difference between Manchester City, a club which tasted Premier League glory only after it could pile millions in its squad for years, and the current Paris-Saint Germain team is that the latter has worked in the departments which needed attention.
And where the club did need attention, it spent unprecedentedly there, only to notch the most notables in the field, unlike City, who were more carried away in the fact that they have a billionaire's backing.
Take for instance the fact that City spent a staggering 163 million pounds in the rather overrated players like Rolando Bianchi, Felipe Caicedo, Jo, Valeri Bojinov, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Vedran Corluka, Stefan Savic and many such more, only to discard them
later as half decent players, or not worthy enough.
And it took at least three seasons of insane signings before the Qatar based club under the manager Roberto Mancini, could make a major breakthrough. But the clever signings by Ancelotti at Paris-Saint Germain speak volumes, of how effectively money could
have been used.
The approximate 143 million pounds spent by the club this summer, are worth spending and in no way can be deemed as waste. The midfield maneuvered by Motta, provides the platform for Javier Pastore, another clever signing last summer, to do playmaking. With
Veratti and Moura on the bench, PSG have invested shrewdly in the future.
After Nene doing wonders for the club last season, Ibrahimovic has been added in the squad to distribute the workload between the two. Ibrahimovic on the contrary is a very experienced striker who has always played with top flight clubs and will offer tremendous
support to the Brazilian.
The runners-up of the Championelle last campaign conceded 41 goals, which speaks volumes of the fragility of their back four. The inconsistency of Alex, Lugano, and Sakho, in the back, was dealt with a massive boost last month, with the news of the signing
of Brazilian sensation Thiago Silva.
The defensive rock will indeed provide with the required experience to the back three and in the meantime serve the defence in a proficient manner.
With the smart signings, spanning over just a couple of years, it seems that the Ligue 1 side is well on course to achieve the Championelle glory after approximately 18 years and the third time in the club’s history.
