The cash-laden French outfit are looking to build a training complex similar to the La Masia academy that has produced a host of superstars for La Liga giants Barcelona
In order to become one of the best clubs in Europe, it is most certainly important to have money – a face that Manchester City can second. However, money is not enough as the likes of Montpellier Herault, Borussia Dortmund and LOSC Lille have shown in recent
seasons.
Working on the youth academies has become even more important than before. Many clubs, whose financial resources are limited, end up relying on their own academy players most of whom are never able to make it to the grade.
Promotion of young players to the first team is not a new concept but has become really important to even those teams who have ample resources to buy ‘readymade’ stars.
Often criticised for squandering many talents, Paris Saint-Germain are aware of the shortcomings they have displayed. Drafting academy players to the first-team perpetuates the culture of a club. Furthermore, promoting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 players is cheaper and would
be a huge asset for clubs when the financial fair play ruling comes into full effect.
In recent times, Barcelona have shown near total reliance on home grown talent. The likes of Xavi, Javier Iniesta, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 and host of other players have played a huge role in the Catalan’s rise in Europe. All these players were at
the Masia where they learned the trade of the game.
Le Parisien now reports that Paris Saint-Germain are now looking to take inspiration from La Masia in a bid to make radical changes to the club’s training complex.
Alain Roche and Bertrand Reuzeau, the club’s training centre’s director, are set to visit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. The purpose of the trip is to visit the Masia and to meet the officials running the training centre in order to look at the methods that the Catalans adopt
in order to produce such efficient players.
PSG are hopeful of producing their own Puyols, Xavis and Messis and taking a look at how things are run at the Masia may help them in achieving these dreams.
