PSG sporting director Leonardo discusses coaching saga – Ligue 1 news
For almost one week, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have been making headlines of the main columns of almost every sports daily across http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. Les Parisiens were linked with a move for former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti and it was rumoured that current
coach Antoine Kombouare’s situation at the club had been compromised.
After days of rumours flowing around the capital club, it was later revealed that Carlo Ancelotti had turned down PSG’s proposal. The Italian tactician says that he is willing to wait for a good coaching opportunity to come from England where he is currently
working as a consultant for Sky sports.
The sporting director of the club, Leonardo met with journalists of L’Equipe in order to improve the image of the club that has been somewhat tarnished by the true-false rumours regarding Carlo Ancelotti and Antoine Kombouare.
While talking about Kombouare’s situation at the club, the former PSG player said that Kombouare is not a fragile individual and he knows the business well.
“Antoine knows his situation from the beginning. He is the coach of PSG, period! We are trying to do what’s best for the club that’s all. The situation has not change and we have the means to do so,” said Leonardo thus indicating that Kombouare’s position
at the club is still under review and the club would keep looking for other options.
While talking about Ancelotti, Leonardo said that he saw Ancelotti in Paris but he saw other people like Kaka at the capital as well. The Brazilian stressed that these things happen frequently when someone buys a club. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 also indicated that the club
has to be built.
Former Manchester United player and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 has long since been linked with a move to Parc des Princes. The Englishman is currently in the final weeks of his contract with Major League Soccer franchise LA Galaxy.
“Beckham is unique. I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic. But it shows that PSG have entered the world. I hope to use this to build something good,” said Leonardo thus indicating his desire to land a mega star who would definitely take PSG’s popularity
to the next level.
A demanding Leonardo is certainly becoming a man with a vision and it seems that PSG owners have found a man who would surely change the face of the club and would do so even if he has to show no mercy to the current employees of the club.
