The Ligue 1 giants are set to splash 30 million euros in order to make a new training facility which may well put the training centres of AC Milan and Real Madrid to shame
In just one year, the Qatari owners of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have offered the team a staff which has the potential to unnerve some of the best teams in Europe. However, despite spending so much money on new players in the last few transfer windows,
the cash-laden owners have no intentions to stop anytime soon.
The next project in the mind of the Middle-Eastern oil magnets is to make a new training centre which can replace Camp des Loges which is considered too small for the ambitions of the Ile giants.
According to L’Equipe, the new training centre is expected to be finished by July 1, 2015. Moreover, five cities, namely, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Montesson, Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Poissy and Carrieres-sur-Seine are bidding to host the new state-of-the-art
facility.
And, in order to satisfy the desires of PSG, these cities will have to meet a lot of specifications. Les Parisiens have already requested an area of at least 30 acres to build 15 courses (four for the first-team, two for the reserves and women’s team, one
parking area which can accommodate at least 1000 vehicles and one medical and research centre).
This is exactly what PSG owners feel will take to make a facility that could put the training centres of the likes of Real Madrid, AC Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 to shame.
According to L’Equipe, the Parisian club’s owners will have to spend even more than 30 million euros in order to make such a facility. Arsenal spent around 30 million euros to build the Coney training facility so the French club’s owners would naturally
want to do better than their English counterparts.
The current training facility, Camp des Loges was built in 1904 for PSG’s predecessors, Stade Saint-Germain. Seventy years later, the facility was given to PSG. Although Camp des Loges was renovated in 2008, the club’s owners feel that now is the right time
to put in place plans to make a new training facility.
