Alright bought my psp in May, upgraded with OFW every time an update comes out. I want CFW.

I’ve done my research the past month it seems like trying to find a way..there is no way i hear. call this pointless but there’s so many questions about downgrading from 4.05 that i thought i would make one solid spot for people to turn to ask questions about this needless 4.05 update from psp.

So here we go:

1.Dark Alex isn’t making m33 for 4.05 ofw- correct?

2.Only possible.. Imaginable way to downgrade from 4.05 ofw is with the use of Pandora’s battery- correct?

3.No one else is creating cfw for the 4.05 update-correct?

4.If we don’t want to Pandora a battery, don’t feel like spending money on a pandora battery of the internet(or don’t have a credit card for minors with psp's) is there any way to downgrade.. NO-correct?

5. i know this next 'statement' is true.. IF YOU DONT WANT THE PROBLEM OF DEALING WITH A 4.05 DOWNGRADE DONT UPDATE.. Right? haha

6.in the end it seems people with out Pandora’s battery for a psp slim with ofw 4.05 are now totally screwed out of getting cfw for their system-correct?

like i stated above this could seem pointless to you, but this is just where i decided to come to write down basically all I’ve been able to understand about this ofw update for people who want cfw.

so feel fee to answer my.. “questions?" or comment.

h**l even leave your thoughts about this stupid update that’s screwed us all over.

peace.

  1. I'm not entirely sure about the 4.05, but I JUST installed custom firmware in a friend's psp who had just bought their psp new using my pandora battery and magic memory stick that has version 3.9 33M-2 custom firmware -- and it worked just fine!

I'm don't know what offical firmware version was in their psp, but have you TRIED just installing custom firmware regardless of the official firmware was already in it?

I'm asking this because I have custom firmware 4.01 in my psp, but I like to experiment so I frequently "brick" it, and when I do, I just pop in my pandora battery and magic memory stick and downgrade it back to 3.9 custom firmware to unbrick it, and then I have to upgrade again back to the 4.01 version--I do this all the time, and it works, every time as well.

So, are you positive you're really screwed?

  2. yes it may seem that you are screwed...but what you can do is trade your current PSP in at like a game stop or another game store and get another fat PSP...wich will allow you to downgrade without the Pandora battery, (depending on the firmware version), and then you can upgrade to the lates version of CFW 4.01 M33-2 i belive is the most current.  also if you still want the PSP light i believe you have go to the game store near you and see if they know of anyone who has the pandora battery and magic memory stick so that they could get you custom firmware...it's always woth a shot to ask around...good luck
