PSP Later Firmware Homebrew?

Question

I just realized that after updating my system software to the VERY latest version I wasn't going to be able to download any homebrew at all. I feel pretty stupid :P but anyways I know I can't downgrade ( I have system software 4.05 or something like that). But is there any news, or hope about people like me ever being able to run homebrew on our PSPs??

thats because 4.05 is official firmware not custom firmware. thats why you cant play your downloaded games and homebrews anymore. ive never dealt with firmware that high but i suppose 1 way to downgrade is to wait until the latest custom firmware comes out or try findind someone with a pandoras battery.

u can still downgrade ur psp to CFW !! whoever told u that u couldnt! ive downgraded my two friends psps to CFW when they were at 3.95 ofw. and i know for a fact 4.05 can still downgrade to cfw. just follow this tutorial i wrote up! i wrote it on a forum and so i copied and pasted it here. and YES I DID WRITE THIS! it took me a long time too. i hope it helps u

For those of you who think that u can make a pandora battery with some kind of program, no u cant. u need either a friend that has CFW or just MAKING A PANDORA BATTERY!

just make a pandora's battery its actually not that hard. i even short circuited my battery trying to do it! smoke came out! but i took out the 5th pin. i thought my battery was dead! it wasnt!! so yea it was a pandora battery and everythings good now. i got cfw and now im hacking! =] heheh

Pandora Battery Part!

***TOOLS NEEDED***:

probably a needle or paper clip

a knife or something like that (you need that to open ur battery case, believe me)

**INSTRUCTIONS**

What u do is just open ur battery case up. now thats really hard. just keep scraping the 2nd longest side of ur battery repeatedly! just keep scraping. dont push too hard though or ur battery will break! =O then once its open, find a rectangle with IC04 on it or VF43. it depends because in some Batteries it will say ICO4 and in others it will say VF43. There will be a big (well kinda small) black dot next to VF43. then lift up the 5th pin its kinda like this: btw DONT pay attention to the "asdf" 's i had to put it there lol.

_^lift that pin up with a needle or something make sure that the top of the pin isnt touching anything. its just lifted up.

If your psp turns on by itself, congratulations, you have made the pandora battery

Next step-Makin the Magic Memory stick

**Note: you might wanna back up the files on your memory stick because with this process, all of your memory stick files will be deleted**

--From now on, Use your AC adapter to power your PSP. Do not use your PSP battery--

1) install the files i gave at the top of the post

2) extract the files to the desktop. you should see three folders and take the "Pandora" folder and put it in the "C:" drive.

3) go to "start", then "run" then type "cmd".

4) type in "CD.." then press enter, "CD.." enter, "CD pandora" enter, "CD mspformat" enter, "CD mspformat G" i put G because that's my psp drive letter. put in the letter of your PSP drive letter.

5) press enter and then type in "y"

6) once its finished, take out your memory stick and put it back in. when you go into your memory stick, there should be nothing in it.

7) now take the "Pandora's Files Pre-made flash right to..." folder and copy everything within the folder into your memory stick.

8 ) go into the "Pandoras_GUI_v1.5" folder and install the program

9) when the program is done Installing, open up the program and skip all the steps and ONLY DO STEP 4! Write the IPL.

10) when its done writing the IPL, exit out of USB mode and completely TURN OFF the PSP. Unplug the PSP from the AC adapter and take out the memory stick. put the memory stick back in. put in your Pandora Battery.

Now your PSP should turn on by itself and get a black screen with white letters. Now you just press X to install the M33 firmware that you wanted!

Congratulations, Now you have Officially gotten CFW!!! give your self a pat on the back!
