PSP cfw help please?

Question

I have seen multiple tutorials to make a mms and I ended up using the totalnewbinstaller. I did everything exactly as said and all the processes in the window go through perfectly saying all ok, and the thing ends. I try to put my pandora battery in to upgrade with the stick, and I press x and nothing happens. How am I supposed to do this? Any help from experienced people or just a link to a helpful psp forum.
