I have all the information correct (I believe).

I got the information from my router.

Previously when I tried to connect to the internet, it said "Exchanging key information" and never connected.

My mom and I tried it manually and now the message :

"Communication with the server failed.

DNS error occured

(8041040F)"

Does anyone know what it means and how can I fix it?

  1. there are some youtube videos that show you how to fix that error i was watching some today

  2. do you have a wirelss router?

email me and i can give you some tips, but without a wireless router your SOL.

also make sure your selecting the correct WIFI encryption such as WPA, WEP, etc. you will have to check your router to know for sure.

  3. It happens... try getting all your settings right, and sit right next to the router, and it should work. Worked for me!!!

  4. I just got mine in April and to be honest with you I can't remember EXACTLY what I did :P I had struggles with mine the first few tries, but I got it going. So don't worry, you'll get it...Here's what I think you need to do:

On the Modem, you will have to reset it I'm pretty sure. It shouldn't mess anything up, but typically you have to do this if you are using a new device with your current wireless connection (I have had to, anyway).

There should be a tiny pinhole on the back of the Modem (not the router). Just push it with a pen or something small and hold it for 20 - 30 seconds. This will reset the modem and all of the little light will go off. Release the button and once all the lights light up, make sure your computer can connect, and if so, then gear-up your PSP. Go to 'Internet Browser' (or whatever it is and set-up the Internet connection by selecting 'New Connection.' Just set it to everything automatic, which I think are the default settings (just click 'next' or 'ok') and it should find the connection. That should work and it's really not that hard.

If the re-set doesn't work you can try unplugging the Router and plugging it back in. Then just repeat the steps I described and then try with the PSP. You'll get it, Good Luck!

  5. make sure u have it updated and

    Menory card is absolutely neccesary
