PSV Eindhoven head coach, Fred Rutten, is reportedly thinking about his future plans. The 49-year-old tactician has an ongoing contract at Philips Stadion that is due to expire by the end of the 2011/12 season.
The Dutch mentor took the managerial hot seat at the Eindhoven giants in the summer of 2009. Since his arrival, the Boeren have finished in the top three Eredivisie sides. However, the 49-year-old has failed to guide the Eindhoven giants to any silverware.
Kees Ploegsma, Rutten agent's, has revealed that his client first wants to know the plans PSV have for him before making a decision.
“I first want to know what Rutten thinks about his future and then would like to hear from the club management. If PSV clearly reveals their intentions, then we will decide how to proceed”, Ploegsma said while talking to the media.
The 49-year-old tactician started his managerial career as an assistant coach at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede in the summer of 1993. At the start of 1999/2000 season, he was appointed as the head coach of the Tukkers. He has also coached Schalke 04 and PSV’s youth.
Reports in Dutch and English media also indicate that an English Premier League outfit is keen to appoint the Dutch mentor as their head coach.
Rutten’s agent, however, has denied the report, clearly revealing that he knows nothing about such speculations.
“If there is any interest, I do not know that yet. At present, we have planned nothing”, Ploegsma concluded.
PSV are currently occupying the second spot in the league table, trailing the league leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar by three points. Rutten would be hoping that he manages to lead his side to the Eredivisie title by the end of the ongoing campaign and redeem his lost
reputation.
With several reports linking the 49-year-old tactician to coach an English Premier League outfit in the next season, it seems very unlikely that the Dutch trainer would be prolonging his stay at Philips Stadion for another year.
