The former AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper had an expiring contract at New Tivoli, and has now joined the Eredivisie giants on a free transfer.
Reports from Philips Stadion confirm that PSV Eindhoven have successfully acquired the services of Boy Waterman from Alemannia Aachen on a free transfer. The 28-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to put pen to paper on a contract that
will keep him with the Eindhoven giants until the summer of 2013.
The former Dutch U-21 international started his professional career in the 2001/02 season at Heerenveen. However, the Dutch gloves man never really managed to cement his place in the Friesland outfit, featuring only in 18 Eredivisie
games during his six-season stay at Abe Lenstra Stadion.
The Dutchman joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 in the 2008/09 season and then to De Graafschap in the 2010/11 campaign.
Following his unpleasant stints in Dutch top flight, the goalkeeper opted to move abroad to join Alemannia Aachen in the summer of 2011, featuring consistently between the sticks for the German second tier outfit.
His consistent showings tempted the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Khalid-Sinouh-c20891, to lure the talented shot-stopper to Philips Stadion.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-c23507 Brands, PSV’s sporting director, was delighted following the Dutchman’s arrival and revealed that the club have now two good goalkeepers.
“PSV have two good goalkeepers, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Przemyslaw-Tyton-c30175 and Boy Waterman, under contract for another long season”, Brands was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The sporting director went on to reveal that Waterman and Nigel Bertrams fit perfectly in the club’s future plans while acclaiming Sinouh’s role in his side’s 2011/12 season.
“Khalid Sinouh played a fine role in last season’s team, but we’ve made the decision to give Boy Waterman and our own talented youngster Nigel Bertrams an opportunity to show their skills between the posts”, Brands concluded.
Waterman would be hoping to enjoy regular first-team action, though, it seems very unlikely that the former AZ goalkeeper would be standing between the sticks in the presence of Tyton.
