PSV Eindhoven want AFC Ajax’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mounir-El-Hamdaoui-c26905 – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from Philips Stadion confirm that PSV Eindhoven made official contact with Ajax Amsterdam to acquire Mounir El Hamdaoui’s signature in the ongoing summer transfer market. The Boeren are in search of a new striker since the departures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Koevermans-c10211
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Reis earlier this month.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 technical director, also admitted that his side is looking to sign an out-and-out striker before the new season commences and see the Moroccan ace as a perfect addition to their attacking third.
“We have not yet spoken regarding Mounir’s salary. But we would be negotiating in the next couple of days”, Brands said while talking to the journalists.
El Hamdaoui’s agent, Sigi Lens, had earlier revealed that his client is looking for a move away from the Amsterdam giants in the ongoing summer transfer market and is open to a move to the Boeren.
The Moroccan International was heavily linked earlier with Fulham FC, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759, but the striker denied moving abroad and clearly indicated his intentions to compete in the Dutch top tier, Eindhoven being his most likely destination.
The 27-year-old arrived at Amsterdam Arena in the summer of 2010 after scoring 50 goals in 80 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. The technically gifted striker played the first-half of the 2010/11 campaign impressively under the leadership of Martin Jol, scoring
11 goals in 17 games.
However, a significant dip was seen in the Moroccan International’s form after Frank de Boer took over the managerial hot seat at Amsterdam Arena in December 2010. The striker added only two goals in nine appearances under the new manager. To add further
to his misery, the 27-year-old was demoted to the reserves squad for his misbehaving with the tactician.
Although the 27-year-old’s current contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2014, chances of the Moroccan ace leaving the Amsterdam giants, ahead of the new season, are very high.
