FC Twente Enschede will host PSV Eindhoven in the league match at De Grolsch Veste on Saturday, October 29. Fred Rutten, PSV head coach, and Co Adriaanse, the Tukkers boss, are looking confident before the clash and expecting a good contest between the two
top Dutch sides.
Rutten has revealed that he expects his troops to stage a dominant show away from home. He also believes that his side needs to secure all three points in this crucial encounter.
“We are not aiming for a lone point in Enschede. Both the teams will look to bag maximum points, but I believe we will emerge victorious”, the Dutch trainer was quoted as saying to the media.
The Eindhoven giants have overall achieved better results against the Tukkers. However, they have struggled to record a win in any competition for the past three seasons with their last victory coming in April 2007.
On the other hand, the outfit from Enschede head coach is brimming with confidence after recording a difficult 4-3 win against SC Genemuiden in their KNVB beker Cup third round match.
Adriaanse stressed that his side is far better than PSV in front of their home crowd and revealed that when you are aiming to win silverware than you must have the ambition to beat every team.
“We are far better at home than PSV. If you want to win the cup, you must then aim to beat every team”, the 64-year-old trainer said while talking to the journalists.
The Dutch mentor then went on to highlight his side’s Dutch Cup victory and revealed that his side’s ambition in that match was to play an entertaining brand of football.
“We wanted to see many goals and an exciting evening. We nearly met all of these targets. The second-half was a shooting gallery. We could have won 6-2, but we threw away many chances”, Adriaanse concluded.
It will certainly be an exciting battle between the two impressive Dutch sides. Although the Tukkers have staged better show against PSV in the recent years, losing only one of their last ten encounters, they still have to put in their best performance to
outclass the Eindhoven giants.
