The Eindhoven giants boss has decided to leave the managerial hot seat at Philips Stadion after the end of the 2011/12 campaign.
PSV Eindhoven head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fred-c14136 Rutten, has revealed that he will leave the club after the end of the ongoing season. The 49-year-old tactician has an expiring contract at Philips Stadion that is going to end in the summer of 2012, and he does not intend
to renew his contract at the club.
Reports from Philips Stadion confirm that the Boeren boss has informed his side’s technical director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-c23507 Brands, and chief executive, Justin Sanders, about his decision.
Rutten, who has been working at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 since the summer of 2009, has revealed that it's time to part ways with the club.
“It is time that PSV and I let each other go. My imminent departure at the end of the season has saddened the players. However, they need to understand my decision”, Rutten said while talking to the media.
In the 49-year-old’s first season at Philips Stadion, he managed to guide his side to a third place finish in the league. Expectations were higher in the following season and it seemed imminent that the Eindhoven giants would be lifting the Eredivisie title
at the end of the season.
However, their erratic showings in the final weeks, coupled with phenomenal performances from Ajax Amsterdam, left the Boeren in the third place yet again.
PSV have performed highly thus far in the 2011/12 campaign. Occupying the second spot on the league table, they are trailing the league leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar, by a mere solitary point.
Should the Eindhoven giants achieve consistently good results after the winter break, they have a bright chance of lifting the Eredivisie title at the end of the season. However, Rutten has asserted that his decision to leave the club will remain unchanged
even his men are crowned the Dutch Champions.
Reports indicate that the club management will hold a press conference on Friday, December 30, to officially announce the Dutch mentor’s decision.
