Reports confirm that PSV Eindhoven’s Genero Zeefuik has reached an agreement with PSV management and will pen down a contract extension in the coming days that will keep him at Philips Stadion until the summer of 2013.
The promising striker is currently representing Netherlands U-21 side in Austria and reports suggest that the 21-year-old will put pen to paper upon his return to Netherlands.
The youngster is a product of the Boeren youth academy. He started his professional career at Philips Stadion in 2006/07 season, but has not managed to cement his place in the Boeren playing eleven.
The 21-year-old was previously loaned to Almere City FC where he scored eight goals in 35 appearances. He was then loaned to FC Dordrecht where he managed to find the back of the net on 12 occasions in 37 appearances. He has also represented PSV in 14 matches
and has scored a lone goal.
Zeefuik is confident that he will play an important role in the coming seasons for his side. He said, “It goes to some details, but I'm sure everything will work. Within the next two weeks I sign a new contract with PSV.”
The promising young striker will surely sign the new contract with PSV, but it is still uncertain whether he will be able to cement his place in the side. The Boeren have set their sights on attacking reinforcements and should they manage to add some new
faces to their ranks, it will surely make competition even stiffer for the 21-year-old.
Zeefuik revealed, “I have no problems with it. I'll have to show that how capable I am. The fact that the club wants to tie me two years, has shown that at least they are very confident in me.”
The youngster played seven matches this season but he made headlines when he scored the winner in the home match against Willem II Tilburg in the injury time.
