PSV Eindhoven’s Stef Nijland loaned to NEC Nijmegen – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports confirm that NEC Nijmegen have acquired services of PSV Eindhoven’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stef-Nijland-c33973, on-loan for the 2011/12 season.
NEC were in search of a striker after their star striker, Bjorn Vleminckx, recently joined Club Brugge. NEC saw Nijland as an ideal replacement to fill the gap left by Vleminckx‘s departure.
Nijland has been a part of PSV since his arrival at Philips Stadion in the 2008/09 season. However, the youngster never managed to cement his place in the playing eleven at Philips Stadion, only making 14 appearances for his side since. The player could
only muster 4 substitute appearances in the 2010/11 season. He was loaned-to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Willem-II-c40945 Tilburg in 2009/10 season, where he made 16 appearances and managed to find the back of the net on four occasions.

coming years.
“We have a lot of confidence in the quality of Stef. We think it's important for him that he plays a series of matches in the Eredivisie. This is good for his development and his future with PSV.” Brands said.
Nijland is NEC’s third acquisition of the summer after Ryan Koolwijk and Melvin Platje. NEC finished 11th in the league table this term and look set to strengthen their side to achieve better results in the coming season.
The Nijmegen outfit have a lot of work to do in the summer transfer market as they look to mount an assault on the Eredivisie title in the coming season. Nijland’s acquisition, thus, is a step in the right direction.
