http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven’s Wilfred Bouma believes his side is out of title hunt – Dutch Eredivisie news
PSV Eindhoven’s centre-back, Wilfred Bouma, believes that PSV are out of the Eredivisie title race after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam 3-1 loss at the Feijenoord Stadion on Sunday, April 24.
The 32-year-old central defender admitted that PSV had to stage a dominant show in Rotterdam to claim superior results, but he believed that his side failed to play to their full potential.
Bouma said, “We had to be at our absolute best against Feyenoord if we wanted to get a good result. Feyenoord are going through a good spell of form and we knew that. We simply failed to play to our potential though.”
The Dutch international was utterly disappointed after their loss at the hands of their rivals. However, he was unable to describe about the reasons that caused them to lose three crucial points in the race for the Eredivisie title.
Bouma added, “It's hard to say what caused our disappointing performance. Feyenoord outplayed us. It is now going to be extremely difficult for us to get back into the title race. We have to believe in it that we can still do it, but we have to leapfrog
two teams in the table.”
PSV are currently placed third in the league table, trailing the league leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AFC-Ajax-c38228 Amsterdam. With six points left to play in the season, the outfit from Eindhoven’s chances to be crowned Dutch
champions looks far-fetched.
The Red White Army will play their remaining encounters of the season against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Groningen-c39119. Fred Rutten, PSV’s manager, will be hoping that his side secures all six points in these two fixtures and keep their hopes alive of lifting the
Eredivisie title.
The outfit from Eindhoven sat at the top of the league table on Friday, but the loss has dropped them to third place in the league table. The versatile defender has now admitted that the weekend results have now made it almost impossible for his side to
become Dutch champions at the end of the season.
According to experts, the outfit from Eindhoven still have a modest of possibility to lift the title. However, it will depend upon the results of next week’s encounters of the Tukkers and the Amsterdammers. The Tukkers will play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Willem-II-c40945 Tilburg while the
Amsterdammers will clash with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463 next week.
If both of the top two Eredivisie sides lose points in their respective fixtures and PSV secure all three points next week, the Boeren will then have a slight chance of winning the title. However, if the Tukkers and the Amsterdammers secured all three points
in their respective fixtures then the Eindhoven outfit would lose all their hopes to become Dutch champions this season.
