PSV Eindhoven’s title hopes shattered despite 2-1 win over Vitesse Arnhem – Dutch Eredivisie news

fixtures on Sunday.
Fred Rutten, PSV manager, believes that his side did what they had to do and secured all three points but his side’s title competitors also secured wins, thus pushing the Boeren out of the Eredivisie title hunt.
Rutten said, “We met expectations, recording a 2-1 win at home over Vitesse, but elsewhere out nearest competitors also bagged three points. We could have won by a larger margin, but we hit the post twice. We still feel the disappointment of last week’s

The victory has kept PSV’s hopes alive to play in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round for the next season. The home side started the proceedings in front of their home crowd dominantly and took the lead seven minutes before the end of first-half,

PSV sit third in the league table, three points behind the league leaders and trail the second placed Ajax by two points. With only three points left to play in the season, there is no chance for the Boeren to lift the Eredivisie title this season.
