In the wake of PSV Eindhoven's 3-0 defeat to Groningen at Euroborg Stadion, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Strootman-c20775 admitted that he was far from being impressive in the game.
The Boeren came into this match on the back of a 2-1 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759 in their Europa League round-of-32 encounter on Thursday, February 16. They started the match brightly and dominated proceedings in the opening 20 minutes. However, they failed to
break the deadlock.

After the embarrassing loss, Strootman revealed that his side failed to assert their authority right from the kick-off, as they missed a few goalscoring opportunities early on.
“This should not have happened. From the beginning of the match, we have to be sharp. That was not the case. We missed few chances and after that we never really played to our potential”, Strootman was quoted as saying to Nusport.nl.
The young midfielder than went on to insist that a good mid-week performance cannot guarantee all three points on the weekend and asserted that they must perform at their best to emerge victorious.
“If we are not giving our 100 percent, we can lose to anyone. I played below par and the others were not as good as they played in the Europa League encounter”, Strootman added.
The youngster then went on to praise the efforts put in by the outfit from Groningen and insisted that they deserved the victory.
“PSV are a top club. But Groningen played better against us. They dominated and outclassed on in every department. They deserved the victory”, Strootman concluded.
