The Moroccan ace has dismissed reports that he has signed a deal with the Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit and has insisted that he wants to prolong his stay at Philips Stadion.
PSV Eindhoven prodigy, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zakaria-Labyad-c37796, has dismissed reports suggesting that he has signed a contract to join Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit, Sporting Lisbon, before the start of the 2012/13 season.
Several reports in the past couple of days in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 suggested that the 19-year-old has penned down a five-year deal with Sporting that will keep him at Estadio Jose Alvalade until the summer of 2017.
However, the Moroccan International has insisted that he has not agreed terms with any side and expressed his disappointment about the way media is reporting his situation.
“I have not signed a contract with Sporting. That's utter nonsense. I am really disappointed about the way the media is reporting about my situation, and that fans are insulting me on the internet”, Labyad was quoted as saying
to AD.nl.
The young winger, who can also play in a midfielder role, has an ongoing contract at Philips Stadion that runs until the summer of 2012. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 management recently announced that the club have exercised the option to extend Labyad’s
contract for another two years.
However, the youngster has argued that the option in his contract to prolong his stay is not valid and he would be meeting the management in the coming days to sign a new deal.
“I will meet with sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morocco-c2961 at the moment, and I won't sign anything without him”, Labyad concluded.
The 19-year-old is a product of PSV’s youth academy and started his professional career in the 2009/10 season. The versatile youngster, who has great control with both feet, has thus far represented the Eindhoven giants in 35 matches,
netting seven goals in return.
PSV would be keen to offer the Moroccan ace a new contract to avoid losing him on a free transfer this summer.
