PVC Rugby Posts?

My club is hosting a tournament for which we will need a bunch of cheap but sturdy posts. Does anyone have any tips for making posts out of PVC pipe (or any other method of making cheap/sturdy tournament posts).

WIth wood, just dont make then as long as they should be. The pvc wont work since the wind will make them curly. for me the wood is the best option.

You can buy cheap PVC rugby posts:

...but they aren't full size, as the material isn't strong enough for the lengths required for that. Plastic posts are really suited for practice rather than tournament use.

I wouldn't recommend making them yourself out of piping as it could potentially be dangerous and you'd also need some way of safely anchoring them into the ground.
