World Number 26 in the international rankings and fourth seed of the event, Abian, worked well against the spirited Indian and clinched the match by taking 40 minutes in the court. The encounter was one of the most thrilling fights of the day, as both shuttlers
played wonderful badminton for three sets.

no chance of finishing the rallies by employing his powerful jump smashes.

play and eventually lost the second game with a big margin of 12-21, in just 13 minutes.
In the deciding set of the match, the Spanish shuttler played to his maximum abilities against Anand. Abian tried to play short rallies and finish the points as the opportunity came by. He worked well at the net by playing deceptive strokes to maintain pressure
on the Indian.
