Pablo Larrazabal hoping to win the Reale Seguros Open de Espana
Pablo Larrazabal is in the field of the Reale Seguros Open de Espana, aiming high to be the proud winner of the European Tour staged event.
The 28-year-old Spanish is giving his best in the current year. He recently won the title of the Peugeot Alps de Barcelona in his homeland and displayed an amazing performance.
The three-day tournament in Barcelona was staged by Alps Tour. Larrazabal's preferences of the Peugeot Alps de Barcelona over the European Tour event benefitted him.
He scored a 16-under 194, shooting 64, 65 and 65 throughout the three days. He defeated Ivo Giner by four strokes and recorded his first win in 2012.
''It is always good to win no matter where you play and even though it was my first-ever victory here in Spain the feeling of winning is always the same,'' Larrazabal said.
''There was that same pressure I've had many times before coming down the last hole, and it was a little bit like the way I felt in winning the French Open (in 2008) and last year's BMW International Open".
He added, ''It was the first time ever as a professional or an amateur I have won in Spain. I had four second-place finishes before on the Spanish Tour and I was third in 2003 on the Alps Tour. Having Galar on the bag and with all my family and friends in
Barcelona made it that extra special".
Now, after winning the Peugeot Alps de Barcelona, he looks confident for the upcoming Reale Seguros Open de Espana at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla in Seville, Spain.
He turned professional in 2004, and has won three professional titles so far. He recorded two wins at the European Tour and one at Alps Tour Golf.
Winning a title at the Alps Tour is comparatively easier than securing a win at the European Tour.
Thomas Aiken is the defending champion of the event and will be teeing off on Thursday. Larrazabal has to be extra impressive from May 3 to 6, 2012. If he plays well in Spain, then he can achieve his goals.
