AS Roma were extremely inconsistent in their last campaign, and failed to qualify for any of the European places. They were beaten to it by Internazionale; Luis Enrique resigned as the head coach of the side owing to the huge pressure that built up during
the season. Enrique was involved in a variety of controversial incidents as well, which culminated in Roma accepting his resignation as well.
Luis Enrique was succeeded by Zdenek Zeman and the coach has instilled an extremely tough training regimen for his Giallorossi troops. When talking about the club’s aspirations for the upcoming season, he went on to state:
"Yes, I think we should be in the mix. I want to win the
Scudetto, but we must wait until after our first 10 games to see how our season is going. Obviously we want to finish as high as possible, but our minimum goal is to return to Europe."
Osvaldo has already played under the current Roma manager, and the player stated that Zeman still made his players work hard, and had an attacking mentality. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Osvaldo-c28821 was under Zeman during their time at Lecce but that was back in 2006-07,
and the 26-year-old stated that he was young back then.
He went on to comment that they enjoyed a great fruitful relationship, even though the circumstances have changed. Furthermore, he went on to remark:
"It was nice to meet [Zeman] after so many years. I had him when I was at Lecce, but I was just a kid. Now the situation has changed, but the relationship has always been excellent. He has not changed at all; we still train really hard."
The Azzurri international has stated that he wants to be a part of the Italian national set up, and he was saddened by his inability to make it to the Italian team in the European championships. He further stated that he wanted to form
a partnership with Balotelli.
