Pablo Sandoval glad to win Game 1 of World Series for San Francisco Giants – World Series Update
San Francisco Giants’ third baseman Pablo Sandoval is pleased to win Game 1 of World Series in which he played a significant role hitting three homers against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, October 24 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.
Pablo Sandoval scored three runs and smashed four hits along with four RBIs on his consistent .1000 slugging percentage.
"Man, I still can't believe it, wherever the ball is, I'm just going to swing, There's more bats in there to swing, It's not the bat. It's you,” Sandoval said after the game and explained about his performance.
Even Tigers' ace Justin Verlander said of Sandoval's historic performance, "Extremely impressive, I wish I hadn't contributed."
The Detroit Tigers lost the game 8-3 as Justin could not just play his natural offensive game. He pitched way-ward and received too many runs early. The Giants’ batters picked him well and kept his under pressure during his entire spell.
Verlander pitched first four innings of the game and received five runs and six hits along with two homers. He struck-out four but his 11.25 ERA brought disgrace to him as well as team.
“Is it disappointing? Yeah, Would you like to have won Game 1? Absolutely. But I don't know if you guys have been watching, but the three guys behind me have been doing pretty daggone well as well. It's not the end of the world by any means. I think we feel confident every day. There's nobody in there hanging their heads at all," Tigers' starter admitted that he certainly did not pitch in right areas which gave the Giants' batters a clear advantage as they hammered him with great power.
With this particular win, the San Francisco Giants are leading 1-0 and have definitely got some winning momentum on their side.
Though Sandoval provided the right thrust to his team, but the San Francisco Giants other batters also scored on consistent bases and eventually earned a great victory.
Angel Pagan batted four times and scored two runs and two hits on his .500 slugging percentage.
