Pablo Sandoval’s four RBIs help San Francisco Giants beat Colorado Rockies 12-5 - MLB Update

San Francisco Giants’ third baseman, Pablo Sandoval was impressive with the bat as he hit four RBIs including two home-runs and went 3-for-4 with an average of .310 in the Giants’ 12-5 win against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, Colorado on September
18.
Giants posted two runs in the first inning to get an initial 2-0 lead. Mike Fontenot struck a two-run homer (412 feet) towards right-field and Andres Torres scored the second run for San Francisco. During the second inning, Brandon Crawford and Matt Cain
both flied out to right-field while Eli Whiteside lined out to second base.
Similarly, Rockies’ short-stop Thomas Field struck-out swinging while Chris Iannetta and Esmil Rogers both flied out towards right-field at the bottom of second inning. However, the Rockies got off the mark at the bottom of third inning and reduced their
lead 2-1. Eric Young Jr. added a single run when Seth Smith hit a sacrifice fly to left-field.
Fourth inning went the batters’ way as the Giants smashed eight runs and the Rockies were able to post two runs to cut their deficit 10-3. Sandoval homered (450 feet) to left-centre, Brandon Belt homered (384 feet) towards left-field, Cain homered (428 feet)
to centre-field and Sandoval hit his second home-run (366 feet) towards right-field.
The remaining four runs during the fourth inning were taken by Crawford, Fontenot, Torres and Carlos Beltran to end the eight-run campaign for the Giants. On the other hand, Greg Reynolds hit a grounder into fielder’s choice to second base and Ty Wigginton
posted a single run on the throwing error of Giants’ Fontenot. The second run was taken by Iannetta when Young Jr. bunted a grounder into fielder’s choice to third base.
Reynolds got out to second base at the end of the fourth inning. Crawford again homered (431 feet) towards right-centre to raise the Giants’ lead while Rockies added two runs to reduce their lead 11-5 at the bottom of fifth inning. Smith scored one run on
the drive of Wigginton to deep right-field while Kevin Kouzmanoff posted one run on the single-run shot of Iannetta towards centre-field.
In the sixth inning, Beltran added the last run for the Giants to give them a 12-5 lead when Aubrey Huff was saved to reach first base on the error of Rockies’ second baseman Chris Nelson. Consequently, the Giants swept the Rockies 4-0 at Colorado.
