Pablo Sarmiento: Sergio Martinez will teach a lesson to Matthew Macklin – Boxing news
Sergio Gabriel Martinez, the world number one middleweight, is extremely fit and in good shape and Matthew Macklin will rightfully know that he has made a grave mistake to choose the Maravilla as his next opponent.
These comments were put forth by Pablo Sarmiento, Sergio’s chief trainer.
A reputable boxing reporting organisation recently took an interview of the 36-year-old while he was busy undergoing his regular training schedule. Sergio is one of the most prolific Argentineans who have reached at the top and threaten their division by
their mere existence.
Sergio is one of the most resilient pugilists of all times. He has undergone a total of 52 bouts some of them extremely strenuous but nothing except a few men were able to halt the great man’s win urge and desire. He came out victorious in a total 48 bouts.
Only two men were able to conquer the Argentinean proud Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito.
Sergio later on took revenge from Paul and brutally inflicted damage so much so that Williams lost his senses in juts the second round of the 12-round long ride. This is the intensity and desire of the Maravilla when it comes to boxing.
When Pablo was asked to comment on the currents physical status of his man he said, “We’re only three weeks into camp and Sergio is in great shape.”
He added, “Sergio’s work ethic, intensity, his drive is like no other; he’s very focused for this fight and with over a month left until the fight he’s definitely going to be ready for Matthew Macklin on the 17th.”
Pablo is really happy at the current ideal physique of his golden boy and is confident that Sergio will easily knock out his current opponent. Matthew Macklin, infamous as the Mack the Knife has been in a total 31 brawls.
He has won 28 of his brawls and just lost 3 of them. His knock out ratio though is better than Sergio but when it comes to experience and absolute raw power the Maravilla has a clear upper hand over the 29-year-old Briton.
The bout will be epic and definitely deserves the right to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York. The bout will have Sergio’s WBC Diamond middleweight title on the line.
