Pace, Pettersen and Gal share the same position in the Evian Masters
Evian Masters is in full swing and top golfers from around the world are vying for the top positions in the most prestigious event on the European golf calendar.
Lee-Anne Pace, the South African star has scored 69 points. She was six strokes behind Stacy Lewis, who is leading at 63. Pace is very confident of her performance in the tournament. She had a great time at the South African Women’s Open, where she stood
second.
Pace was very enthusiastic about the tournament. She said, “It’s one of the best tournaments, I think, in the world. Just the place and the course is quite like some of the courses in South Africa with sloping greens”.
World number six, Suzann Pettersen is also playing a great game at the Evian Masters. At the end of the first round she shared the eighth position with a score 69.
Before the start of the event, she was very excited about Evian Masters and said that she has a great chance of finishing the event in the top slots.
Pettersen was a bit disappointed by her performance in the first round. she said, “I’m a little bit disappointed because I was four under and I hit a good shot on 16 but then a putt that ran over the back”.
Experts believe that with her immense experience in playing Evian Masters, she will bounce back in the second round.
Sandra Gal from Germany is another well known golfer on the Evian Master’s rankings. She also shot 69 points at the end of the first round. She started off on a weak note but gained her confidence towards the end of the round.
Gal is satisfied with her performance and does not see the need to change the strategy that she used in the first round.
She said, “I’m happy with it. I rolled a few nice putts in and I think I stuck to my game plan today and was just executing the shots. One bogey coming in is a little bit annoying but hopefully there will be more birdies tomorrow”.
The second round will see these three players moving up the rankings.
