Pace can scare batsmen, says Pat Cummins – Cricket News Update
Australia’s emerging pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, revealed that he used play cricket with his brothers.
The young pacer asserted that he had been scaring his brothers with the help of his pace.
“Every afternoon we played backyard cricket and it was pretty much either trying to get them out or trying to take their head off when I was bowling. In the backyard when my brothers were starting to annoy me, you send a few bouncers
their way and start to see them get a little bit scared. When you know you’re on top of them and just trying to not let up … it’s the best memories I have,” he told to the reporters.
Cummins, who mentioned his childhood while emphasising over the importance of the speed, cited that a bowler can scare the batsmen with the help of his pace.
The 18-year-old, who played his first One Day International against the South African side recently, said that he always prefers speed over line and length.
The Sydney-born speedster added that the bowling speed does matter, as you can push the batsmen on the back foot easily.
“I think when a batsman can look up at the scoreboard and see the radar ticking over 150, it doesn’t even matter where you’re bowling. If they feel intimidated … the faster you can bowl the more on top of the batsman you already
are,” Cummins added in same interview.

Considering his impressive pace, it is likely that the youngster can cement a place as the strike bowler in the team.
