Pachattack ready to go 2 in 2 for the season in the All Along Stakes
Flaxman Holdings Ltd. owned 6-yer-old mare, Pachattack, will be looking to build on a good start to the season with a victory in the Grade 3, $100,000 Edward P. Evans All Along Stakes on 16 June, 2012, at Colonial Downs over a distance of 1 1/8 miles over the venue’s turf course.
The Grade 3 All Along Stakes have reeled in 11, 3-year-old and above fillies and mares.
Trained by Graham Motion, Pachattack capped off her 2011 season with a solid third place finish in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic on 4 November, 2011, at Churchill Downs to winner, Royal Delta.
Bred in Kentucky by Dapple Broodmares 2004, Pachattack in her 2012 seasonal debut posted her first victory since winning the Grade 3 Arlington Matron Stakes over the Arlington Park’s last year in May.
This year started off in winning fashion and downed, Kathmanblu, to win the Grade 3 Doubledogdare Stakes over the Keeneland’s synthetic surface on 20 April, 2012, after being sent as the 7 to 10 favourite.
La Gran Bailadora finished third on the day, as Pachattack wrapped up the 1 1/16 mile poly track test in 1 minute and 43.75 seconds.
The daughter of Pulpit will try to win a race on grass, since winning one by a nose back in 2010 at Newbury, but the mare had a race on grass four starts back in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes, where she missed the mark by a considerable distance to winner, Stacelita, who downed Pachattack by many lengths in eighth.
It wasn’t any better from a fifth place finish in the Grade 1 E. P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine, back in 2010, where she had a troubled trip over the grass track going 1 ¼ miles.
Pachattack will break from post number 3 for the 1 1/8 mile test at 120 pounds under jockey Rajiv Maragh for trainer Graham Motion.
The highweight of the race will be T. F. Proctor trained, Snow Top Mountain, who will carry 124 pounds, and will break from post number 8, two more than Michael Matz trained Thundering Emilia at 122 pounds, who will break from the far outside post.
