Pacific islanders in the AFL?

yeah i was just wondering..are there any? in rugby league theres a lot, they are touch and suit the game pretty well, are there any in aussie rules? i remember watching the afl grand final last year, and in the losing team port adelaide i think it was? sorry im not good with afl teams but i think i saw an islander playing in their team, well he looks a bit like one anyway, but are there?

    ess have big Mal Michael from PNG

    James gwilt from st kilda's mum is from PNG

    Edwards from the kangaroos was born on western samoa.

    there are players from all nationalities who in the AFL.

    Good to see you asked a good sensible question mate. people in here will give you a go if you are fair dinkum, i know i will. just give the game a go mate, there is room for all footy codes, it all depends where you were born, as to what you enjoy the most, in the majority of cases.


  2. If there are any, it would be due to their parents migrating to Australia to Melbourne or Adelaide.  More precisely, an AFL aligned state.  

    Those who come from direct from the islands have been raised on Rugby and AFL is foreign to them.  Fuifui Moi Moi, David Kidwell, The Cayless brothers, Sonny Bill Williams.

    Some have grown up here, Krisnan Inu, Israel Folau, Jarryd Hayne, Reni Matua, Willie Tonga but have played nothing but Rugby League and Rugby Union.
