Question:

Pacific standard time and eastern standard time on tv?

ok so if someone was watching a show on like mtv or something at 6pm EST would the show be on in PST at 3pm? like would people be watching the show at the same time or does the PST wait until 6pm to watch the show? its confusing but i don't know how to explain it well.

  1. Network programs air when the networks and their affiliate stations decide they should air.  They try to keep prime time shows in prime time locally.  For convenience, they often choose to air a show at 9pm Eastern and Pacific, 8pm Mountain and Central.  Many major events like football games are televised live everywhere.


  2. Most TV shows are shown at the same local time, give or take an hour,  throughout the country. So west coast cable systems would put the show on at 6pm Pacific time.

    Live events like sports are an exception, of course, so a game that starts at 6 pm Eastern starts at 3 PM Pacific.
