  1. I run with a song in my head. I listen to a song I think is good for running before the race several times, and replay it in my head as I run. It keeps me on a very similar pace throughout the race. Also, try to relax as much as possible when you run. Getting tense only wastes energy.

  2. Keep a watch with you or if possible, get the nike plus kit.  Are you training to be a distance runner? How come you are running longer distances?

  3. You should start slow. One day try running the distance you're training for slowly. If it felt easy, pick it up a little bit next time. Keep picking up the pace a little bit each time until you feel you're running smoothly and comfortably. Then, when practicing, try running at that pace. Hope this helps.

  4. just run by feel

it should be a pace that you can be at the whole run

you should not have to stop

  5. The best way i think is to stay with a person whos about the same speed as you, or whom you think you can keep up with. Then, if you feel like you can go faster, don't be afraid to get ahead of them. Then at trhe last 200 meters, use your sprinting to your advantage and kick it in.
