Packers WR Greg Jennings lavishes praise on QB Aaron Rodgers - NFL News
It is that part of the season again as the National Football League (NFL) goes into overdrive. The divisional playoff rounds are just around the corner and the Green Bay Packers are preparing for the visit to Lambeau Field by New York Giants on Sunday.
Before a ball is thrown we have the players from each team talking up their quarterbacks and Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings on Sunday in an interview with ESPN did just that.
Jennings lavished high praise on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and even called him better than Packers legend Brett Favre in his prime.
"They both bring different things to the table, but honestly right now I definitely have to go with ... Aaron, his body of work at such a young age, his attention to detail, his discipline, I think it's really second to none -- its un-paralleled," Jennings
said.
Aaron Rodgers is in line to trump Favre if he brings home a second straight Super Bowl Championship to Lambeau Field this year and in the form Rodgers is showing this year the Packers are the favourites to do just that.
The 28-year old is the highest rated quarterback in the league this year with a 122.5 rating and is set to be announced the Most Valuable Player this year after a season in which he has led the Packers to victory after victory losing just once in week 15
against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jennings has been out of the field since the Week 14 46-16 victory over the Oakland Raiders after tearing his left knee ligaments but the wide receiver is all set to make a comeback against the New York Giants on Sunday. Jennings will be looking to resume
where he left off this season and with Rodgers pulling the passes the receiver will have no trouble getting the ball.
"You haven't really found a QB that has done it the way (Rodgers) has done it," Jennings added. "I mean you have the young guys that are coming out and they're making a huge impact in this game ... but his attention to detail and his discipline to be perfect
or so close to perfect I think that's really going to separate himself ... his study habits are ... they speak volume for themselves."
Such praise is not thrown around lightly and Rodgers has certainly earned the plaudits. Jennings himself had a wonderful year as the Packers juggernaut outscored every team in the National Football League.
The wide receiver made 67 receptions covering 949 passing yards scoring nine receiving touchdowns this year.
The Packers have won twice against the New York Giants in two years and will look to make it three on a row and continue their currently unstoppable progress to the Super Bowl XLVI.
