How can you tell Favre you want no part of him and try to bribe him to stay away, then give him the starting job anyway? (let's face it - Favre will win the "competition")

  1. If anything, it's unfair to Aaron Rodgers, because the Packers have been saying all along that "he's the starting QB" "he's our guy" etc. Now, they are going back on their word.

  2. cause the packers are being g*y and favre is going to be reinstated tomorrow and then he is going to become a viking and then the vikings are going to win the super bowl

  3. myfav1- if your going to make a comment know what your talking about. Of the people you mentioned Elway is the the only one that was correct and he retired cause he'd just won back-to-back SB's. Barry retired way to early cause he'd lost his passion to play. Aikman and Young left because of injuries even though they still tried and wanted to play. Favre still has a lot of talent and if he still wants to play he should able to without anyone passing judgement. BTW, all the guys you mentioned are behind Favre for the very reason you are complaining about.

  4. I'm tired of this love for the game talk that some fans keep saying. Come on all of these players have a love for the game. Some just know when to let it go something Favre just doesn't want to do. All I hear is he is like a kid out there. Well all I have to say is it's time for him to grow up. Elway, Barry, Aikman and Steve Young all knew when it was over and they retired and stayed retired. Now tell me they didn't have a love for the game the same way Favre does. He is now just becoming a pain in the a$$.

  5. Favre has been reinstated, but can still be traded or released at anytime. I agree whats with the "competition". Rodgers hasn't beaten Favre for the starting spot for the past three seasons. Rodgers won't be #1 until Favre leaves the Packers or NFL completely. Then Brian Brohm may surprise people when it happens.(You can't forget about him). Oh yeah, THE COLTS and REDSKINS play tonight, which are my favorite teams, but the Colts are #1! Even though it's the pre-season, it feels good to see some FOOTBALL!!!

  6. This ought to prove very interesting. Green Bay management knows he's good enough to play with a competitor thus they have to watch out.

  7. I hope Favre does get the starting spot. Who says no one wants any part of him? And they wouldnt be giving it to Favre he would be winning it.

EDIT* I agree with Jacob. Do you think Brett even knows that YOU have lost respect for him? NO. You know why? because tons more people still do respect him, including me. if you lost respect for him then i would say you never had much respect for him in the first place. It would take a lot for someone to lose any respect for Favre, not just him changing his mind.

  8.   Hey if good old Vinny was a starter in his 18th season in the NFL then so can Farve. One thing I don't understand is why did the Packers draft 2 qb's? Brian Brohm, and Matt Flynn should get an equal chance as well as A-Rod. Brett is getting kinda selfish. He should play for the Bears, he'll have a better shot at being a stater there. Brett Farve made a lot of history in Green Bay, and i'm sure he can do the same elsewhere.

  9. If they start him Rodgers will leave when his contract runs out.  He wants to start.  Of course then Favre will retire again next season and leave the Packers without anyone ready to be a starting QB.  It will be their own fault when they suffer through some 5 win seasons until they get someone ready to be a starting QB.

  10. hes not coming back to packers if anywhere he is going to minnesota

  11. he's not officially back hes just going to practice

  12. It looks like the old man is going back to Lambeau

  13. I have lost all respect for Brett Favre.  I hate when players become burdens on their former teams like this.

If you retire, you retire, and that's said, the NFL has moved on w/o you, your team has moved on w/o you, and same with the fans.

    It's so stupid.

  14. mike, like your respect is even worth something,( no offense) brett favre has resepct from the legends, the hall of famers, who are you bro, honestly, then to tell him he should stay retired? this is his life your talkinga bout, the only thing he does, he loves this sport, to have you tell him to stay away from that is just disrespectful to the highest point. he still has love for the game, and if he wants to play football with his buddys, rather than watching his friends have a blast on the field on his couch in sundays, thats his choice, not yours, or the dumb fans, if aaron becomes QB we all know what would happen, next rex grossman
