Question:

Packing bubble tea for kids' bento?

I am going to start packing cute bento boxes for my kids (ages 9, 4 and 2). I am *OVER* their school lunches!

One treat I want to occasionally include, as if bento isn't a treat in itself, is homemade bubble tea with rainbow tapioca pearls. I feel like there is probably an obvious answer, but it's not coming to me.

What kind of container would be ideal that meets the following requirements:

1. Small in size, for children small in size.

2. See-through, to show off the pretty rainbow tapioca pearls.

3. Can accomodate a fat straw.

4. Travel-friendly, and spill-proof!

  1. something re-usable to save our environment

  2. if you decide on a plastic container, make sure it's free of Bisphenol A!!!

Should your kids be drinking tea at such a young age? Just wondering, as most bubble teas are caffeinated.

  3. the only thing I can think of is at dairy queen they have a clear cup for their Jamocha shakes.

I know that you can buy clear cups at the store in the paper plate aisle but no lids.maybe a trip to the convienance store to check out their drink cup lids is in order.

sorry I couldnt be of more help.

  4. Try those kid-sized plastic water bottles. They're very durable & sturdy. Not sure if there's really see-through ones as the thicker plastic makes it more transclucent than transparent. Some have built-in straws which may be not big enough for pearls but there's other styles like with a secure flip-up cap. Look in supermarkets, departmental or sports stores; get reliable brands like Rubbermaid or good Japanese ones.
