  1. Okiedokie. You got me started now. Very good flashlights. I mean "Mag-Lites", Lots of batteries.

A small short-wave radio. Food-wise, you can take any foodstuffs, but get things that are lightweight, and nutritional.

In those areas, you're going to need it. "Hormel makes now some excellent 2-dollar meals that are tasty, already prepared and safe. Get them. Get a bunch of them.

Water, water, water. Take a ton. Always have clean water with you. Always. You won't understand me until you get the poops. Then you will say..."Geez! I should have listened to the smart guy on the internet".

Take a sewing kit, small and slight, clothes that are durable and functionable. Shoes that are practical, and if you go for stylish in those areas, you will dread the choice.

First-Aid kit. Water purifier tabs, band-aids for knees, knuckles, and gauze. All sterile stuff.

Mosquito repellant. 100% DEET, Nothing other. Use it. It will save your butt. Mosquito netting. It takes no space or weight, and you'll thank me later.

More water and homemade snack-foods. Your best cargo shorts and carry-all pants. Pockets can save you. A sharp knife, a good backpack, and some travellers checks.

Never carry your passport in a place that you yourself can reach. Shoes, or under your clothes.

Never leave your stuff in the hotel or hostel. Make the management place it all in a safe, and get a receipt for it.

Rubberbands, and zip-lock baggies. You'll understand when you get there. Scissors, tweezers, a cigarette lighter, matches, and your favorite spices.

Toilet paper, rags, a towell, and razors. A couple of paperclips, a pair of needle-nose pliars, and a small mirror.

You'll know. Keep yourself bright-eyed at all times. Look around always. Be smart as opposed to kidnapped and dead. It is not a tourist's haven anymore, so be aware.

My best recommendation would be not to go there at all, but you seem to have your heart set on it.

Just watch your ***. Watch it like you never have before.

Bring water. And be safe. As safe as you can in the quagmire of the universe. Best of luck.

    Nad

  2. If you listen to that guy you'll need to go by sea and mule train.

  3. Nadvanoot does not travel light! That's ridiculous!

Check the weather forecast before packing. each place you mentioned have its own climate. You'll have more fun if you don't bring your "house" with you.
